What is this?
This is GreenHouston. I’ve lived in the Houston area (Kingwood, specifically) for almost 4 years now, and I’m amazed at the lack of environmental responsibility in this city and its surrounding areas. Recycling, emissions, waste control, and most importantly environmental education, among other things, are practically nowhere to be found in this city.
I know Texas is way behind as a state in the environmental game, and I am in no ways unrealistic or obsessed in thinking we can change things overnight with radical behavior and protests. However, all the little things are what can make a difference if a lot of people are doing them!
So stick around, subscribe to this feed, and we CAN make a difference. All it takes is a little time and effort. This site will be your gateway to tips, meetups, articles, government rulings, etc., that impact us, and, more importantly, impact our kids!
My first post (later today) will be the first of many lists of 10 things you can do to help out!
Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to drop me a line if you have questions or comments about the site, or want to help out in your own way!

Hi Brian,
My name is Kurt Stoll and I am with VisionMonitor.com. We provide a software that enables petrochemical companies to better manage their environmental emissions. Hopefully, if we are successful in getting more companies to buy and use our software, we will see better success with environmental emissions reduction in the Houston area.
We also run a blog where we keep track of environmental news that affects Houstonians and Petrochemical companies in the Houston area.
Let me know if we can ever help to provide you with any additional insight or industry news.
Best Regards,
Kurt
