Calculate Your Impact

March 27th, 2007

This is older, from ClimateCrisis, but it’s a great little tool for figuring out how much of an impact you and your family has on the environment. There’s a lot of debate about global warming and carbon offsets, but the way I see it, it can’t hurt to pay for carbon offsets (to legitimate companies) and it can only help our planet for us to be more aware.

Saturn Aura Hybrid for Under $23K

March 20th, 2007

Jalopnik reports that Saturn is releasing the Aura Green Line Hybrid car for under $23,000, making it the lowest-priced hybrid. I don’t know why they haven’t reached the $20k mark yet, but they need to. It’s a good start…though.

Kudos to GM for not only finally bringing a sedan to the market to compete with the Camry — the Aura won NorAm Car of the Year — but then for bringing a hybrid model to the market. Oh and probably some more green-love today for pricing it below any other hybrid you can buy today. They’ve just announced pricing on the mean-grean four-door machine, and it’s got an out-the door MSRP of $22,695.
